With the King’s Cross FFXIV Aetheryte, it was specifically and temporarily installed for the event. Even people who didn’t make it into the sold-out fan gathering were able to visit and post pictures with it. Here’s the first picture of it when Square Enix initially set it up:

And when it closed out for the evening, the company posted another photo on social media that showed how the FFXIV Aetheryte replica actually glowed.

The latest installation is at the Hotel Figueroa in Los Angeles, California. This is a building near the Los Angeles Convention Center, where Anime Expo 2024 will be held between July 4-8, 2024. It often is used as a canvas for video game advertisements, with many similar sorts of images showing up during events like E3. The first photo shared by Square Enix showed FFXIV Dawntrail art of the Viera Erenville being painted, however a follow-up tweet by user Ted__Chang showed the Warrior of Light with expansion logo and G’raha Tia also appeared.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive on July 2, 2024. Early access kicks off on June 28, 2024.
