Umamusume: Pretty Derby English Release Teased With Trailer

There’s no English release window for Umamusume: Pretty Derby yet. The accounts note it is on the way. We do know it will be on both Android and iOS devices worldwide in English. It will remain free-to-play.

Here’s the teaser trailer. Rather than hinting at gameplay, it’s a “Girls’ Legend U” opening movie for the game. It introduces many of the horse girls who appear in the game. This is an animated segment with ones like Special Week, Gold Ship, Silence Suzuka, and Meijiro McQueen appearing. It also highlights the fact that characters are racers, students, and idols.

Umamusume is a horse racing game by Cygames, however all of the horses are actually horse girls. In addition to the game that launched in February 2021 after being delayed out of 2018, there are manga and anime adaptations. It is quite popular in Japan, and it passed 21 million downloads in June 2024.

Another game based on the series is also coming up soon. Umamusume: Pretty Derby Party Dash will show up on the Switch, PS4, and PC. That’s a minigame collection starring the characters. It’s also set for a worldwide release at launch.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is on mobile devices in Japan now, and an English global release is coming. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.
