Hololive Vtuber Anya Melfissa Cutting Back on Solo Streams

Anya Melfissa, a Hololive Vtuber in the Indonesian branch, announced she’ll be cutting back on her solo streams until August 2024. She will still appear in collaboration streams during the week and be streaming alone on weekends.

Anya first announced the break during her free talk stream on May 20, 2024, then offered a brief summary on Twitter. She brought up how Kiara Takanashi’s three week break earlier in 2024 got her thinking, especially as she hadn’t taken any breaks in her entire career. She decided that even though she doesn’t want to go on hiatus, she figured it would be wise to take some time to avoid burnout.

Anya also explained she wanted to avoid a complete hiatus, as she wanted to consider other people’s schedules for collabs and was approaching 700,000 subscribers on YouTube. (As of May 21, 2024, she had hit 692,000.) She noted that limiting herself to weekends for about two months seemed like a means of finding a middle ground. However, she also said if there is another event like Usada Pekora’s hardcore Minecraft one she may choose to participate.

Here is her full free talk stream where the break came up.

And here is Anya’s social media announcement bringing up her break. It confirmed she may still do a guerrilla stream occasionally as well.

Anya Melfissa joined Hololive as a Vtuber alongside Kureiji Ollie and Pavolia Reine in December 2020. Prior to this announcement, she took part in Pekora’s hardcore Minecraft event and was around until the final fight. Her last musical performance was a cover of the song “Loveit.”
