New FFXIV Shadow European Data Center Adds 3 Worlds

Square Enix announced a move to prepare for the FFXIV Dawntrail, as it will open a Shadow European Data Center with new worlds. It will add three more worlds for the region to help prepare for a potential influx of new players, but there’s no release date for it yet.

The three worlds on the Shadow European Data Center in FFXIV will be Innocence, Pixie, and Titania. They join the Chaos and Light Data Centers that are already available. Those two are home to eight worlds each. As of 9:30am ET on May 1, 2024, only the Chaos’ Moogle and Light’s Shiva worlds did not allow the creation of new characters.

While there’s no launch date yet for the new FFXIV European Data Center Shadow and the Innocence, Pixie, and Titania worlds, people will be able to “see” them soon. Square Enix noted they will be visible, but not open for business, starting on May 7, 2024.

As a reminder, worlds ended up congested when the FFXIV Endwalker expansion launched, and we could see that happen with Dawntrail as well. With Endwalker, it got to the point that compensation and many relief efforts were carried out to alleviate issues due to increased interest and player counts.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive on July 2, 2024. The FFXIV Dawntrail Benchmark tool is out now, but will be updated  eventually.
