The Dalian Forest Zoo in China announced that a group of Honkai: Star Rail fans adopted one of its peacocks and named it Aventurine. A plaque introducing the peacock, complete with a graphic of Aventurine from the game, is on the exhibit’s fence. [Thanks, HiNastrond!]
According to the Weibo post, a group of Aventurine (Honkai: Star Rail) fans adopted the peacock for about a year. At the end of the post, the zoo states that it hopes everyone will watch Aventurine (the peacock) grow up safe and happy. The animal in question is a three-year-old common peacock or a blue peafowl. As for why the fans chose to adopt a peacock and name it Aventurine, it’s due to the character having a lot of peacock imagery in his design.
Aventurine debuted in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.0, though he made a voice-only cameo at the end of the Belobog Trailblaze Continuance when on the phone with Topaz. He is a member of the IPC’s Ten Stonehearts and plays a major role in the Version 2.1 storyline. He will appear as a playable character in the latter phase of the update, and will be a 5-star Imaginary Preservation unit.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. If you want to check out the peacock version of Aventurine, you’ll need to go to the Dalian Forest Zoo in China.
