Atlus released a Unicorn Overlord survey targeting people in Asia that asked about a sequel. Specifically, it asked if the people participating in the poll would buy a follow-up to the strategy game.
Much of the survey is fairly typical. It asks for demographic information to start. Even though this is a questionnaire designed for people living in countries in Asia, the second page of questions does allow someone to say they are from a “non-Asian region.” Many of the questions after that ask if people played other Atlus games or similar strategy titles like Triangle Strategy or Valkyria Chronicles. It also asks about platforms people play on, how they get their news about games.
It’s near the very end of the Unicorn Overlord survey that the question about a possible sequel comes up. After someone offers feedback on the quality of the game, a question asks, “Do you plan on purchasing any sequels to ‘Unicorn Overlord’if they were to be made?” Someone can then choose from responses that range from “very likely” to “very unlikely.”
Here’s a screenshot of the question in the survey.
So far, Unicorn Overlord seems to be a success for Vanillaware and Atlus. On April 1, 2024, the companies announced it passed 500,000 copies sold worldwide.
