It looks like April Fools’ Day went on for another few days, as several Hololive VTubers reported that they were unable to change their usernames on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, back to what they originally were. They’d changed their usernames to funny ones for the holiday. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
As of the time of writing, some of these Hololive usernames are still the same as they were on April Fools’ Day. Their handles (the name that follows the @ mark) are the same, so people should still be able to find them on Twitter (X). These are translations of the new usernames for the Hololive VTubers:
- Minato Aqua: Atishigani (Real)
- Natsuiro Matsuri: Natsuiro Matsuri (5) – the username is all in hiragana, as a joke that she is a five-year-old who can’t write her own name in kanji yet
- Roboco: Hageeboo Hololive Generation 0
- Sakura Miko: Mikodanyee
- Shirakami Fubuki: White Burinyan ♡ My Oshi-P’s the Best
The reason for this is because these are all verified accounts on Twitter. After Musk’s takeover of Twitter, in which he changed the verification system, Twitter will have to check a user’s account again if they make changes to their profiles. It’s estimated that the Hololive livers will need to live with the above names for about a week. However, when this happened to Rosemi Lovelock and her Katsuhiro Harada joke and picture, it was restored after about a day.
