Sea Jelly is one of the new materials added to Stardew Valley with the release of update 1.6. This new material is one that players may have a hard time getting due to its low odds of appearing. But it is worth it for the epic uses for Sea Jelly in the game at this time.
Where to Get Sea Jelly in Stardew Valley
Sea Jelly is one of three different jelly materials added to this indie farming sim in update 1.6. As the name implies, it is found by the sea and players have to fish to get it. What you want to do is head to the beach south of Pelican Town. You can pick anywhere you want here to fish, but the goal is to fish for the Sea Jelly nonstop from day to night until you get the blue little material.
The only problem is Sea Jelly has an extremely low rate of finding while fishing here. Any luck buff you have can help but it can still take literal days in-game of fishing nonstop to find it. The one positive is it is an instant catch, similar to trash, unlike fish. This means if you get the fish minigame, you can know you won’t receive the Sea Jelly. This saves you some time in the long-run.
What to Use Sea Jelly for
Once you have the Sea Jelly in Stardew Valley, there are a couple of uses for it. The first has to do with the new secret quest line involving a new NPC at the big tree. This particular NPC will ask you to find three jelly types, including Sea Jelly. You’ll want this for that task, plus it is also a crafting material for a valuable new item.
The Sea Jelly is one of the items needed to craft the Fish Smoker. This smoker lets you smoke fish you catch, which is very easy to do and will instantly double their sale value. As such, it is highly recommend to smoke all the fish you want to sell now.
Stardew Valley is available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
