In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can revive Pawns after they are killed in battle using the game’s forfeit system. This guide will break down how to revive Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and explain what you need to do to save your teammates from death.
Can you revive Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Yes, you can revive Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but it’s a bit complicated. There are actually two kinds of teammates in the game: your Main Pawn and your hired Pawns. Whenever a Pawn is killed in battle they will become “Forfeit” or enter into a temporary death state. Depending on which Pawn you are trying to revive different rules apply.
If your Pawn’s health drops to zero in any battle, they will become immobilized and fall to the floor. You can easily save them by interacting with their body. However, if you fail to save them before the timer runs out, they will become Forfeited and will need to be revived, or else they will die.
Here are the steps to revive Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2:
- If your Pawn’s health bar depletes to zero, they will become immobilized on the floor with a skull icon over them.
- Interact with your Pawn’s body to pick them up from their immobilized state.
- If you fail to rescue your immobilized Pawn in time, they will enter a “Forfeit” state.
- You now have a short time window to reach them and revive them.
- Find your Pawn’s body (which will be surrounded by green smoke) and interact with them to “revive” them.
- Your Pawn will respawn with the same HP that your Arisen character currently has.
If you fail to revive your Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2, they will die and disappear from your party. However, this doesn’t apply to your Main Pawn, who have their own set of rules. Below, we will explain how the revival system works for them.
How to revive Forfeit Main Pawn explained
After you create your own Arisen character in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the game will then ask you to create your “Main Pawn” partner. Unlike other Pawns, this teammate will stay with you for the entire story. You can also change their vocation and upgrade their skills. However, what happens if your Main Pawn accidentally gets killed in battle?
If your Main Pawn gets killed in battle in Dragon’s Dogma 2, they become known as “Forfeit.” Just like Hired Pawns, they will disappear from your party if you fail to rescue them in time. However, reviving your Main Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is actually a bit easier. Below are the steps to revive a Forfeit Main Pawn:
- After your Main Pawn becomes forfeit and dies, you need to find a Riftstone.
- Visit any Riftstone in the game and touch it.
- Once you touch the Rifstone your Main Pawn will instantly be revived and will be summoned back to your party.
It should be noted that you can not hire additional Pawns until you revive your Main Pawn. So if your Main Pawn ends up being killed in battle, it’s something you want to resolve right away. Not only will your party be dropped down to three members, but you won’t be able to hire additional help until you get this fixed.
Thankfully, you can touch any Rifstone on the map and instantly get your Main Pawn back. So, the process is fairly simple. Unfortunately if any of your other Hired Pawns become Forfeit and die, they will become lost and no longer be usable in your party. They also can’t be revived by touching a Riftstone like your Main Pawn.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
