In FF7 Rebirth Chapter 6, you will have a handful of new Expedition Intel to discover in the Corel Region after leaving the Costa del Sol resort. This guide will break down where to find all Corel Expedition locations in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth so you can unlock the Tonberry King Classified Intel on your map.
Where to find all Corel Expedition Intel locations in FF7 Rebirth
Unlike the Junon Expedition Intel in FF7 Rebirth, Corel is actually broken up into two map sections. In Chapter 6: Fool’s Paradise, you will first gain access to the open-world Corel Region after completing the Beach battle with Hojo in Costa del Sol. However, you won’t be able to finish the Corel Expedition Intel until you complete Chapter 8: All That Glitters. After you progress past the Gold Saucer, you will unlock the Buggy vehicle which allows you to explore the Southern Corel desert.
So, while there technically isn’t an order you must complete the Corel Expedition Intel in, you will need to progress the main story quite a bit first before you can find all of them. To get started, though, we have mapped out Corel and have discovered every location of the region’s Lifesprings. For your convenience, you can find all Corel Expedition Intel in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the map below:
Here is the location of the four Corel Expedition Intel that is located in the southern desert section of the map after Chapter 8:
All Corel Lifespring locations in FF7 Rebirth
As stated earlier, the Corel Region is broken up into two parts. So, you will need to progress past Chapter 8: All That Glitters to access the southern section. However, below, we will break down where each Corel Lifespring can be found in FF7 Rebirth and how to access each location.
Secluded Grotto Lifespring location
Corel Expedition Intel 1 is the easiest research to find in Chapter 6, as it’s just a few feet away from the Costa del Sol exit. Run past the Chocobo rental section, and you will find the Secluded Grotto to the left of the pathway. The Lifespring is specifically tucked away in a cave with vines in front of the entrance.
Glencross Lifespring location
The Corel Expedition Intel 2 isn’t that far away from the first one, but it might be a little tricky to find at first. That is because the main way to reach this spot is from the small beach shore south of the map. From the sand, look for a rocky cliffside with yellow stones running up it. Have Cloud climb the small cliff.
After you reach the top, have Cloud immediately hook a right through the hidden path. You will know you are in the right location as there are two rocks on each side and palm trees hanging over it. Once you walk through the path, make a left to find the Glencross Lifespring.
Oasis Lifespring location
Corel Expedition Intel 3 can’t be reached until after Chapter 8. Once you have completed the Gold Saucer section and obtained the Buggy vehicle, it’s time to head to Southern Corel’s desert region. Corel Expedition Intel 3 is fairly easy to find once you have access to the area. Simply go to the location on the map above and look for a small cliff for Cloud to climb. The Oasis Lifespring can be immediately found once you reach the top of the cliff, as it’s located straight ahead.
Watermain Lifespring location
Corel Expedition Intel 4 is the first research that you are going to have to work a little for to reach. The easiest way to find it is to look for the three giant pipes at the center of the map. Corel Expedition Intel 4 can be reached by entering the middle pipe. Have Cloud and his party run through the giant tunnel.
After you exit the other side of the giant pipe tunnel, have Cloud continue running forward. You will next see a giant cave overpass. Run under it, where you will find the Lifespring tucked away on the other side. Basically, you will need to travel through two tunnels back to back before finding the aptly named Watermain Lifespring.
Stonebowl Lifespring location
The Corel Expedition Intel 5 can technically be reached on foot, but it’s a little tricky to find at first. Once you reach the furthest east corner of the map, you will see a climbable mountain next to the ocean. However, you will want to run past it and climb the rocky area to the left of the cliff.
As you continue progressing deeper into the rocky terrain, you will find a winding path that wraps around. The path will eventually lead to a dark cave that has the has the Stonebowl Lifespring inside. You should also see a flying bird around this area, which will lead you to the Expedition Intel if you happen to get lost.
Rockspout Lifespring location
Finally, Corel Expedition Intel 6 can be found in the lowest southern corner of the region’s map. Run past the Moogle Emporium and the Chocobo Stop, and look for a rocky cliff area. Travel up the slope and take the winding path around the corner.
The winding path will eventually lead you to a giant rock overpass. Continue to take the path underneath the giant stone formation. The area is almost like a canyon, as you will be surrounded by giant rocky mountains on each side.
Eventually, the winding path will lead you to a dark cave. You will immediately know this is the right area, as the cave opening will be lit up with green lights. Walk through the little cavern opening, and you will find the Rockspout Lifespring, which is the final Expedition research of the Corel Region.
Once you complete all Corel Expedition Intel, you will be able to obtain the Pristine Crown item for Johnny’s Seaside Saga quest from Chapter 6. That is because after you scan the sixth Lifespring, Chadley will unlock the Classified FF7 Rebirth Tonberry King battle on the Corel map.
