First and foremost, the weapon is the primary piece of equipment you need to worry about for Cait Sith and every party member in this game. The weapon ability is crucial, but you can unlock these permanently after using a weapon long enough. As such, the primary part we care about here is the weapon’s stats. Our first recommendation is his default Yellow Megaphone. It is there for those who want the best possible physical attack.

If you prefer to go down the magical route with Cait Sith, though, your best bet is the Golden Megaphone. However, no matter which of the two you pick, you really need to unlock the weapon skill Moogle Magic from the Crystal Megaphone. It allows you to use one of your summon’s abilities as your own without summoning them.

Cait Sith is more of a tank-like character with some great utility in FFVII Rebirth. As such, there is actually quite a lot of room to focus more on his attack power or his magical flexibility. Regardless, here are the other equipment items and materia we suggest you use for Cait Sith:

  • Armor: Cetran Armlet or Hades Armlet (for materia slots)
  • Accessory: Survival Vest (if going down the more tanky route) or Platinum Earrings (if you make him more mage-like)
  • Materia: Purely preference here but some I like include Healing, Revival, Fire, Lightning, Ice, Wind, Fortification, HP Up, and Auto-Cast (solid if you don’t control him often)
  • Summon: Any, however, pick one you like to use their ability for using Moogle Magic.
  • Weapon Skill Materia: Lots of versatility here depending on what you’re going for. Option 1: Max HP +200, Lucky Jockey, and MP Recovery Rate Up. Option 2: Moogle Decoy or Moogle Sentinel, Moogle Vanguard, and MP Recovery Rate Up.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for PS5.
