Where and How to Get More FFVII Rebirth Weapons

Many towns in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have a weapon shop available. However, you might not actually find any equipment to get there. That’s because while a store is an option when it comes to where and how you get more weapons in FFVII Rebirth, it’s more likely you’ll come across equipment via other means.

Check every FFVII Rebirth weapon shop for new equipment!

While odds are you’ll find most of your new equipment for characters by going through major campaign missions or optional quests, it is still worth checking the stores! You’ll potentially still find equipment there. I even noticed that a Crystal Sword you can get as you go through a Chapter 9 campaign mission for Cloud ended up showing up in the “sold out” inventory at the Chapter 10 Weapon Vendor in Cosmo Canyon, presumably as a means of being able to pick up an item you wouldn’t be able to “go back and get” during the main story.

Make sure you explore while going through campaign missions!

The majority of the new weapons I found appeared in mainline story missions. Going to a new location that you’ll probably only be able to access while taking part in that quest? Make sure you venture off the beaten path, as odds are multiple characters will have equipment waiting for them there. (So, say when Red XIII is the lead character for his questline, make sure you explore that spot since you will be able to pick up a new collar.)

These additional weapons usually aren’t too well hidden. The chests are rather obvious, and if you’re taking your time moving through areas, you should find everything.

Complete optional quests or minigames to find more weapons in FFVII Rebirth!

A lot of the activities you don’t need to do are means of getting new weapons. For example, helping Izo the weaponsmith outside Gongaga in Chapter 9, gets you a new gun arm for Barret. When you’re in Corel Prison in Chapter 8, make sure you go through the Desert Rush minigame. You won’t just have a chance to get Sylkis Greens for the story mission, but you can earn a Dragon Claws weapon for Tifa with a high score. There are a lot of these moments when, if you check the leaderboard prizes for minigames or take the time to go through some sidequests, you’ll get equipment with much-needed boons like helpful abilities to learn.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available on the PS5, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024.
