How to unlock Kindling in Palworld

To unlock Kindling, you need to find a special Pal with the fire-based Work Suitability stat. The quickest way to get Kindling in Palworld is to catch Foxparks in the Windswept Hills. The firey fox spawns on the map at around Levels 3 and 5 and is the first Pal you will encounter in the early game with the ability.

Below are the steps you can take to get Kindling in Palworld:

  • Warp to the Rayne Syndicate Tower fast travel point.
  • Travel down the hill south from the Tower until you reach the area shown on the map above.
  • Groups of Foxparks will spawn in east of the Grassy Behemoth Hills.
  • If you don’t see the Fire-type fox, fast-travel to a different location and then warp back in until you see them.
  • Use a Giga Sphere to catch a Foxparks. However, be careful not to knock it out as it’s low level.
  • Once you have a Foxparks, return to your camp. Next, interact with your Palbox and select “Palbox Management.”
  • Move your Foxparks to an empty slot in the “Pals at the base” window.
  • Your Foxparks will now unlock Kindling in your camp.
  • Use the Furnace in Palworld to craft an Ingot, and Foxparks will automatically walk up to the smelter and use his flames to start Kindling.
  • If you want to force Foxparks to start Kindling, pick it up and throw it at your Furnace to assign it.

Best Early Game Pals for Kindling in Palworld

While having Lv.4 Kindling would be nice; most players won’t be able to obtain that until they are at least level 40 or above. For new players, they are going to want any Pal that can do Kindling as soon as possible. Here are the best early-game Kindling Pals:

  • Foxparks
    • Kindling Lv.1.
  • Arsox (Hatched from Scorching Egg)
    • Kindling Lv.2.

For most players, Foxparks will be the best early-game Kindling option, as the Pal can be found close to the opening area and next to the Rayne Syndicate Tower fast travel point. It might be slow, but it gives you access to Kindling for the first 20 hours of the game.

However, if you can obtain it, Arsox is a major upgrade for your Kindling for the early game. While it usually spawns at level 35 on the map, you can actually hatch it from a Scorching Egg. Just watch for a red and yellow egg while exploring the map, and then hatch it with an Incubator.
