Persona 3 Reload has two different endings to its story, which require the player to make certain decisions to get each one. There is the normal ending, which some may consider to be the “bad” ending, and the true ending in Persona 3 Reload for players to experience.
How to Get the Normal Ending
Note: Full spoilers ahead for the end of the game.
No matter which ending you want, it all comes down to your choices on a certain day in the game. That day is December 31, when Ryoji will visit you in your dorm room. At this point, Ryoji gives you two choices regarding the conclusion of the plot: spare Ryoji and leave things as they are, or kill him and forget everything.
The normal ending, or bad one, depending on your perspective, requires you to pick the second option here. Once you do this, the ending cutscenes will happen with the members of SEES, where they continue their school lives and forget everything about the Dark Hour. This also, presumably, leaves the events unfinished, too.
How to get the Persona 3 Reload True Ending
On the other hand, the true ending of Persona 3 Reload lets players keep playing past December 31. To do this, you need to pick the first option when you speak to Ryoji to spare his life. When you pick this conversation choice, he will ask again, and you must remain true to your convictions and still choose to spare him.
If you do this, you will be able to let Ryoji live and play through the month of January, which you miss otherwise. This leads to the actual conclusion of the story, including the true climatic final boss fight. If you want to see both endings, be sure to make a save before talking to Ryoji on December 31.
Persona 3 Reload is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
