How to unlock the Cooler in Palworld

To unlock the Cooler in Palworld, you must reach level 18. Once you have obtained enough experience, the Cooler will appear in the Technology list, which you can unlock for two Technology Points. You get Technology Points via leveling, so you should have enough at this point.

You can also get more Technology Points by activating the various fast travel points around the Palworld map. You get one point per each fast travel point you unlock, so if you accidentally spent your points on other tech, just find two new fast travel points, and you’ll have enough to unlock the Cooler.

How to build the Cooler in Palworld

To build the Cooler in Palworld, you need the materials listed below:

  • 5 Ice Organ.
  • 20 Ingot.
  • 20 Stone.

Ice Organs are harvested from Ice-type Pals. For an exact farming route to make gathering them quick and easy, check out our Best Ice Organ Farm Locations in Palworld guide. As for Ingot, you need the Primitive Furnace, which you can unlock in the Technology menu at level 10. Ingot is crafted at the Furnace using two Ore, so you’ll need 40 Ore to make the 20 Ingot needed to build the Cooler.

How to use the Cooler

The Cooler has two uses in Palworld: to cool your egg Incubator and to regulate the temperature of your Cooler Box or Refrigerator. To do this, place it in your Base near whatever item it is you’re trying to lower the temperature of. You will then need a Pal with Cooling Work Suitability assigned to the Cooler to freeze it.

Here are the steps on how to use the Cooler:

  • Interact with your Pal Box in camp and select “Pal Box Management.”
  • Select a Pal with Cooling in your box and drop it in an empty slot in the “Pal who is at the base” menu.
  • Next, pick up your Cooling Pal and throw it at your Cooler to assign it.
  • Now that it’s been assigned, you can walk away as your Pal will sit next to the Cooler and freeze it to cool its temperatures down.

Eggs can be temperamental as they can sometimes be too hot or too cold, especially with longer incubation times, so you’ll need to use the Cooler and possibly a Heater to get their temperatures right where you need them to be. Cooling a Cooler Box or Refrigerator with food inside will also slow down that food’s spoil rate. So having a Cooler is essential if you cook a lot or have eggs that get cold.
