Where to Get HP and SP Items in Persona 3 Reload

HP and SP are two crucial resources as you navigate Tartarus in any Persona 3 entry, as you need to keep your health up to survive and have enough spirit points to cast spells with your equipped Personas. Here are a few places to check out if you want to stock up on HP and SP recovery items in Persona 3 Reload.

Where do I find HP items in Persona 3 Reload?

The easiest place to grab healing items is going to be Aohige Pharmacy. The selection isn’t massive, but how much variety do you really need with healing items? On Sundays, the pharmacy even has a sale, so I suggest planning your shopping around that.

I recommend, in the early game, to focus on quantity over quality. Buy a handful of Medicine, rather than a couple Healing Powder. I suggest this, because it’s cheaper to buy two Medicine than one Healing Powder for the same life gain.

Early game, you can get by with 50 HP heals at a time. You’ll get some health item drops from enemies, so you won’t be totally helpless. Also, remember that in a pinch there are skills like Dia that can heal your party, and Yukari’s basically the designated healer early on. (Akihiko and Ken can help too!) Although, as we’ll soon discuss, conserving SP is crucial in a Tartarus run.

Leave enough money to hit up the vending machines after each Sunday, but I don’t recommend buying any HP drinks from them. We want the vending machines to cover our other resource.

Where do I find SP items in Persona 3 Reload?

Unlike HP items, SP items in Persona 3 Reload are much much harder to stock up on. Mostly because there’s no real reliable source to purchase them, at least not directly. Early game, your only real source of solid SP items are going to be from enemy drops. However, these are slightly rare, and typically you’ll spend more SP to get them than they’ll restore.

Although, we do have a couple other options. Every Sunday the vending machines, like the one in the protagonist’s dorm building, will restock their drinks. You’ll want to check these machines every Sunday and buy up all the SP restoring drinks. The drinks don’t restore a ton of SP, but anything helps when you’re deep in Tartarus.

Additionally, you can plant and harvest crops in the game in the rooftop garden of your dorm. Depending on the seeds, you can get a number of different plants with different effects, including HP and SP recovery. However, this does use some of your valuable time and the yields aren’t substantial unless you garden with friends.

The only consistent source of substantial SP restoring items, like Snuff Soul, is at Mayoido Antiques. The antique store doesn’t open until July 18th, after final exams. However, you’re not going to be paying money for these items. The antique store only excepts trades for rare gems, which you can find from enemy drops.

Finally, you can also restore HP and SP at the clock in Tartarus using Twilight Shards. However, this should be an absolute last resort, as there are so many better uses of Twilight Shards.

Regardless of where you are in the game, you should keep a stock of as many SP items as you can get. Throughout the game, SP will continue to be your most valuable resource.

Persona 3 Reload is now available on the PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
