Where to Find Frostallion in Palworld (& How to Catch Them)

Frostallion is an Ice-type Legendary Pal in Palworld, which means it’s not going to be easy to obtain. Here’s how to find and catch Frostallion in Palworld.

Palworld Frostallion location

If you’ve scoured the map and can’t find Frostallion in Palworld, it’s because the Legendary Pal is tucked away in a remote location. Frostallion is found on the Astral Mountains on the north side of the map in Palworld. You’ll find it west of the Land of Absolute Zero fast travel point on an icy plateau. Because Frostallion’s location is hard to reach by foot, I’d recommend using one of Palworld’s flying mounts to reach it if you’re intent on encountering the horse.

Don’t expect to be able to charge in and face the frozen steed at any level, though – Frostallion is a level 50 Alpha Pal Boss, and its Legendary status makes it quite the formidable foe, even if you’re level 50 yourself. You’ll also need some Cold Resistant armor to be able to endure Astral Mountain’s frostbiting temperatures.

You can see Frostallion’s location in my map screenshot below:

How to catch Frostallion in Palworld

To catch Frostallion, you’ll need Legendary Spheres. You unlock the recipe for Legendary Spheres in the Technology menu at level 44 using five Technology Points, where you can then craft them at a Sphere Assembly Line II workbench using 10 Paladium Fragments, 5 Pal Metal Ingots, 3 Carbon Fiber, and 5 Cement apiece.

Before throwing any Spheres, you’ll need to weaken Frostallion. Because it’s an Ice-type, Fire is its weakness, so bring along Pals such as Blazamut, Jormuntide Ignis, and Suzuku for your best chance at whittling its health bar down. Just make sure you withdraw your Pal when the Legendary’s health is low to avoid accidentally knocking it out.

Once Frostallion’s health bar is low enough, throw a Legendary Sphere at it. You’ll likely need to bring multiple Spheres before it will catch, unless you’re incredibly lucky. It took me about 15 Legendary Spheres, even with the Ice-type horse at 10% health.

I recommend using the below loadout to tackle Frostallion in Palworld

  • Pump-action Shotgun – unlocks at level 42. Crafted with 30 Refined Ingot, 20 Polymer, and 40 Carbon Fiber.
  • Assault Rifle – unlocks at level 45. Crafted with 40 Refined Ingot, 10 Polymer, and 30 Carbon Fiber.
  • Hyper Shield – unlocks at level 43. Crafted with 30 Ancient Civilization Parts, and 100 Paldium Fragments.
  • Legendary Sphere – unlocks at level 44. Crafted with 10 Paldium Fragment, 5 Pal Metal Ingot, 3 Carbon Fiber, and 5 Cement.

Can you breed Frostallion in Palworld?

Unlike other popular Pals, such as Jormuntide, you can’t breed Frostallion in Palworld – not unless you’ve caught two of them first. Then, you can put a male and a female Frostallion together in the Breeding Farm and have them create a Frostallion egg that you can hatch.

However, there is a Dark-type variant of Frostallion that you can only get via breeding. You can read more about that in our How to Breed Frostallion Noct guide.
