Swift Axle is the third mini-boss players will encounter in Persona 3 Reload. This particular enemy is much more challenging than the previous mini-bosses you’ll fight, so you want to ensure you have the right elemental coverage and Personas to combat against this foe on floor 17.
Persona 3 Reload Swift Axle Weaknesses & Attacks Explained
This fight might seem like a cake walk since it is the first of the bosses to be alone, but don’t let that fool you. It has only a single weakness and it happens to be an awkward with electric attacks. This means you want to use Zio moves as much as possible in this fight to succeed with it.
What you want to avoid using are wind, bash, and slash-style attacks. It resists all three of these, which means you’ll be wasting your skills for less damage than usual. This boss is pretty powerful and has moves capable of hitting all party members at once. However, the main move you have to watch out for is Magaru, which deals wind damage to everyone. This includes Junpei, who is weak to wind and will give Swift Axle a free second attack every time he hits him with it. For the most part, you’ll need to worry about keeping Junpei’s HP up.
Recommended Personas & Party Members
You don’t get much choice when it comes to party members for this part of Tartarus since you only have yourself, Yukari, and Junpei when you first arrive here. This makes choosing your Persona very important since you don’t have Akihiko yet and his Zio skills. As such, I recommend an early Persona like Omoikane or Lilim, both of which you can fuse pretty early on. Options include Ara Mitama and Forneus or Nekomata to make Lilim, for example.
If you can use Zio on Swift Axle using one of those recommended Personas, you’ll get All-Out Attacks pretty often, which makes this otherwise challenging Persona 3 Reload fight a breeze.
Persona 3 Reload is available right now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
