How to Get the JAK Thunder LMG Kit in MW3

The new Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Reloaded update brought with it several new features and options for players to collect. One of these is the new JAK Thunder LMG Kit in MW3, which completely changes one of the major weapons in the title into a light machine gun.

How to unlock the JAK Thunder LMG Kit

The JAK Thunder LMG Kit is one of the many conversion kits in MW3. This particular one works for the Sidewinder battle rifle. What it does is convert the otherwise pretty useless Sidewinder into an intriguing and quite unique LMG weapon. Oddly enough, there is one way to unlock this conversion kit, and it is through the battle pass.

You can find the JAK Thunder Kit in the A21 sector of the battle pass. Unlike other sectors, though, you don’t use the battle pass tokens to unlock this one. Instead, you have to complete a challenge before you can get the JAK Thunder Kit:

• Get 10 operator or special zombie kills while aiming down the sight with an SMG.

This is a pretty easy challenge. You should pick game modes like Team Deathmatch, War, and others that focus on eliminations. Then equip your favorite SMG, such as the excellent Rival-9, and get 10 eliminations while aiming down the sights with it.

How the JAK Thunder Kit Works

Once you unlock the JAK Thunder Kit for the Sidewinder, you can equip it in the Gunsmith for the weapon. It converts the otherwise slow battle rifle into a fast-firing LMG. It has pretty awful accuracy and recoil, but it makes up for that with its large magazine and fire rate. Its unique feature is how it increases speed the longer players hold down the trigger.
