Idol Corp Vtuber Momo Otako Starts Indefinite Hiatus

Idol Corp took to social media to announce that Vtuber Momo Otako is now be on hiatus. The reason for the break, which is indefinite, is to allow her time to focus on her health and recover.

Here is Idol Corp’s statement about Momo. It didn’t offer any details about her condition, but did offer well wishes as she goes through treatment.

Momo herself also offered a brief statement on the situation. She wished people a Merry Christmas and thanked people for their understanding.

One of Momo’s last appearances was on a stream celebrating the six month anniversary of Endless. That is the second generation of Idol Corp Vtubers and includes Kai Saikota, Coni Confetti, Poko Rakun, and Roca Rourin. You can watch the show below.

Momo Otako debuted as a Idol Corp Vtuber back in June 2023. Her design was based on the dumbo octopus. In addition to playing games on streams, she would also perform songs. Her last cover was “Cute Girlfriend” back in October 2023.

This is the second bit of news surrounding the performers tied to Idol Corp. Back at the end of November 2023, the company terminated the contract of Project Star Vtuber Riro Ron for numerous violations.
