How to unlock Multiplayer in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince

If you want to unlock multiplayer in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince, you’ll want to progress through the game’s tutorial. This means learning how to battle, capture monsters, and the four seasons. After this, return to Rosehill, and you can now teleport to Endor Colosseum for your first tournament.

You need to win in the Category G tournament at the Colosseum to unlock the Rosehill Tower and multiplayer. I recommend having a party of at least level five monsters to win all three matches in a row comfortably. If you’re struggling, be sure to use your monsters’ talent points to unlock their skills.

All Multiplayer Modes

Once you unlock Rosehill Tower, head to the first floor and speak with Fizzy to access the online multiplayer modes. The Online Gateway has five options available to you:

  • Online Battles: Typical fights against other players.
  • Quickfire Contest: This mode pits your team against 30 other players’ teams. It goes by super fast, and there are special daily rewards.
  • Online Shop: This changes every day. You can get exclusive items here.
  • Nintendo eShop: Purchase and download DLC.
  • Player ID: See your ID so you can share it with others.

The Online Battles option has three different multiplayer game modes. There are friend matches, which are your usual run-of-the-mill battles. There are also ranked matches for climbing the leaderboard. Finally, there are multiplayer tournaments you can host or join for up to eight players in a thrilling bracket-style system.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
