During the 2024 Tokyo Game Show presentation of FFXIV Letter from the Producer Live 83, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida went over things coming in the next patch, like the FFXI crossover, and teased the release date for 7.1. It will arrive in the middle of November 2024. Official key art for the crossover featured Gulool Ja Ja, Prische, and the Shadow Lord.
First, here’s the 7.1 key art for the next FFXIV patch. It’s primarily teasing the Echoes of Vana’Diel Jeuno: The First Walk Alliance Raid. That will allow 24 people to fight together. We don’t know exactly how the FFXI characters will feature in it yet, but given how that MMORPG worked and how those featured folks appear in it, odds are Prische is our ally in some way.
As with every FFXIV patch, when the release date comes for 7.1 it will bring with it both mainline and optional activities and quests. The MSQ story will continue with new quests. Yuweyawata Field Station is the next dungeon to join the game. If someone wants an Alliance Raid not based on FFXI, there will be a The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance Raid in FFXIV. The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden Trial, The Jade Stoa (Unreal) Trial, and Futures Unwritten (Ultimate) Raid will appear as well. A number of additional sidequest missions will also appear. The Pelupelu Allied Society Quests, Wachumeqimeqi Quests, and Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures quests will show up. New Game+ will be added for the 7.0 storyline as well.
We’ll also see quality of life changes in 7.1. Yoshida noted that new interior design options will be available for houses. In addition to entirely new ones, we won’t be limited to ones for the region where we live when we pick designs. Doman Mahjong will get new voice acting. Hall of the Novice will offer more training, to help us prepare for fights. Halatali will get Duty Support too.
