5 Best Tekken 8 Mods (So Far)

It is very early days for Tekken 8, given it only just debuted in January 2024, and that also means we’re only just starting to see people make mods for the game. Odds are, some fun stuff that affects gameplay and the way it looks will appear eventually. But for now, here are some things to keep in mind if you’re on a PC and want to shake things up.

Best Tekken 8 cosmetic mods at the moment

These are the ones that shake things up cosmetically. There are no gameplay effects! They just look fun! People are already working on costumes and skins, and some of them are pretty good so far.

Tifa Lockhart Cosplay for All Female Characters by Peek6

Katsuhiro Harada said the team hasn’t decided on guest characters for Tekken 8 yet, but there’s so much fan demand for Final Fantasy VII heroine Tifa that there is already a mod for her. Peek6 created an eye and black stockings mod that people can pair with the high-top sneakers, miniskirt with belt, and tank top customization options already in Tekken 8 to create Tifa cosplay. It isn’t invasive, and the 24kb stocking mod and 1.3mb red eyes mod are both available to download at Nexus Mods

Pokemon Poke Ball Volley Ball Mod by MrMorritos3D and uploaded by Ercuallo

There’s a volleyball minigame in Tekken 8! There are already multiple ball variants in the game, such as a globe. However, this mod gives you the option to hit a giant Poke Ball back and forth between players. It is a 795kb download at Nexus Mods.

There is also a Pixar version, if you don’t like Pokemon.

Death by Degrees Makeup for Nina by Misberave

Remember the PS2 game Death by Degrees? Think that’s a good look for Nina Williams? While you’ll need to make due with the in-game outfit customization options for the attire, Misberave created the makeup she had from that game as a mod. It’s a good likeness, and the 5.3mb download at Nexus Mods works with in-game makeup as well.

Best Tekken 8 gameplay mods right now

Right now many things are minor and tend to offer some additional visual changes. As such, you might not see a lot of things to choose from for a few weeks or maybe even months after launch.

However, here are a few to keep in mind.

Enhanced Tekken 8 Visuals by FrancisLouis

This mod makes the game, in general, look better! (By the way, that modder’s name may look familiar due to a recent Digimon Palworld Garurumon mod.) The creator of this enabled anisotropic filtering and sharpen and disabled bloom, chromatic aberration, film grain, lens flare, motion blur, and vignette. There are multiple options, based on your set-up, and people can get the 28KB file from Nexus Mods.

Here’s a gallery of official screenshots from FrancisLouis showing the before and after.

No-Splash Fix by Gametism

This is a pretty obvious one. Don’t like the splash screen? Download and install this 1KB mod from Nexus Mods by Gametism to eliminate it.

Tekken 8 is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and mods are starting to appear for the PC version of the game.
