People will have their first chance to play 30XX next month. Batterystaple Games confirmed its “the year 30XX, probably” tease on the Steam page will be replaced with a “February 17, 2021.” That’s when the PC version will be available for people to play for the first time via the Early Access program. A few of the planned inclusions for the early build were even detailed.
30XX is the sequel to 20XX and is a roguelike Mega Man-style game. However, its permadeath setting is optional and might feel a bit different, due to its procedurally generated levels and character moveset. When people get their first chance to play, they will have six level themes, with a Deepverse futuristic jungle and Penumbra cathedral among the ones avaialble. It also mentioned the Maker Mode, the level editor, will be available at launch. People will be able to go through things alone or cooperatively with another person.
A new trailer appeared. It shows the Arcade, Mega and Maker modes, giving people an idea of what typical encounters will look like or how it might feel to use its level editor.
The 30XX Early Access phase will begin on PCs on February 17, 2021.
