The Idol Showdown fan-made Hololive fighting game is out now, and it turns out more VTubers will eventually join its cast. To coincide with its debut, a launch trailer appeared. It noted that while there are only eight playable characters now, eventually there will be 11. It also seems the next fighter will be Streams Charts’ most-watched female streamer of 2023 so far, VTuber Usada Pekora.
Here’s the launch trailer for Idol Showdown, which begins with gameplay footage of the Hololive fighting game. We first see already revealed cast members like Aki Rosenthal, Hoshimachi Suisei, Inugami Korone, and Tokino Sora. We also get to see the cameos of other VTubers who show up in supporting roles, like Kureiji Ollie and Nanashi Mumei. You also have “Star Call-in” and “Off-Collab” cameos from other members, like Houshou Marine.
It’s at the 12 second mark that the additional fighters are first teased. In the character select diamond, there are three spaces with question marks. Then, at the one minute mark, a blue bomb with carrot markings drops referencing the VTuber Usada Pekora. Once it explodes, the three more slots appear and the banner states, “Future free content in development.”
Idol Showdown is available for free for PCs via Steam.
