Samurai Shodown began service in Japanese arcades today via the NESiCAxLive 2 platform, and it was accidentally leaked via the Arcade version that Sogetsu Kazama is in the works for the game.
More specifically, it was the NESiCA companion app which leaked the info. Twitter user @mayotaru12 realized that the header character would change whenever the app was refreshed, and after several tries unwittingly found himself face-to-face with an unrevealed character. After tweeting about it, SNK’s Yasuyuki Oda later retweeted it, asking NESiCA to fix it, and commenting that he didn’t expect this to be leaked via the Arcade version.
If Sogetsu were to be revealed for the console version, he would likely be part of Season 2 DLC, which so far has only revealed Mina Majikina.
Samurai Shodown is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’ll release for Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 12, 2019 and PC this winter. The game is also available in Japanese arcades. You can check out Basara in our previous report here.
