More of the Pokemon anime based on Pokemon Sword and Shield’s characters have been revealed. Its professor will be Professor Sakuragi. He will appear alongside his daughter, Koharu. Also, Koharu’s Pokemon is a new one from the Galar region, Yamper. (Thanks, 4Gamer!)
Professor Sakuragi and Koharu are centered in Vermillion City at the Sakuragi Research Lab. Koharu is a childhood friend of Go, Ash’s new companion in the series. Sakuragi is appearing in the anime rather than the Galar region’s previously announced professor in the games, Professor Magnolia.
The voice actors for both characters were revealed. Professor Sakuragi is going to be voiced by Yuichi Nakamura. Previously, he was known for Bruno in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Shigure in the most recent adaptation of Fruits Basket, Ryoma in Fire Emblem, Hazama in BlazBlue, and Malos in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Koharu’s voice actress is Kana Hanazawa, who previous played Marie in Persona 4-related games, Kosaki in Nisekoi, Mayuri in Steins;Gate, and Rinoa in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

This new Pokemon anime series will begin airing in Japan on November 17, 2019.
