Koei Tecmo America is conducting a data-collecting survey regarding its Japanese otome games on Twitter. Until September 26, 2019, people can help answer the question, “Would gamers in the west be interested in any Ruby Party titles?” This would apply to the Neo Romance games like Harukanaru Toko no Naka de 7, Kiniro no Corda Octave, and the just announced Angelique game.
The company made it clear that this is not about localizations. It is about getting data from people who might be interested in Koei Tecmo otome games. It just asks if people want them, then asks if people could share which platform they’d like to play the games on. As of 6:45am CT on September 24, 2019, the response was overwhelmingly positive, with 81% of the 3,483 voters choosing “yes.” The Nintendo Switch was a very popular platform, though people were also chiming in to suggest the PlayStation 4, PC, and even Xbox One as possible platforms.
The last few years have been full of Ruby Party Neo Romance games in Japan. The PlayStation Vita got games like Harukanaru Toki no Naka de Ultimate and Kiniro no Corda 3: Full Voice Special and Octave (La Corda de Oro). The Nintendo Switch has also been a popular platform, with Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 6 DX and eventually 7, the Angelique announcement, and its own Kiniro no Corda: Octave port.
Angelique and Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 7 will come to the Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2020.
