This comes after a Play-Asia initially said and took preorders for Final Fantasy VIII Remastered physical copies back in August 2019. Shortly after that announcement, Square Enix cleared things up and said that the game would only be available digitally.

This will make Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered the fourth and fifth mainline installments to get Nintendo Switch physical copies. Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are both available digitally and physically. It also means Final Fantasy IX will be the only one to not have a Nintendo Switch physical copy.

Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack will be available for the Nintendo Switch in Asia in 2019. Both games are immediately available digitally worldwide.
