More details on the Shenmue III Backer Trial Version for people who helped kick in money to get the game made have arrived. In the second half of September 2019, the official website confirmed that people who contributed to its Kickstarter and Slacker Backer campaigns will receive a PC demo of the game. This will be available through the Epic Games Store.
The Shenmue III Backer Trial Version will be a stand-alone act with its own PDF play guide to help people find their footing. Players will follow Ryo on a mission in Bailu, though there will be things to do in the village besides the task people will have to engage in. People will be able to create saves as they play, but those save files will not carry over to Shenmue III.
Ys Net also said that this Shenmue III Backer Trial Version will have some sort of expiration date associated with it. It noted, “There are lots of activities to experience, and we hope you go back for more until the trial expires.” It did mention that this demo “will be playable for an estimated 1 hours” and be replayable.
Shenmue III will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC on November 19, 2019. Ys Net is currently working on changing the backer survey system for PS4 region selection and the refund request period.
