Play-Asia recently went live with pre-orders for what seems to be a physical version of Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, which was announced back during E3 but didn’t see a physical announcement.
The listings include PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions of the game, coming to NA, Eu, alongside Asia, and JP region versions that aren’t up for pre-order. The info comes by way of Play-Asia’s official blog from three days ago, which details the remaster’s updated graphics and story premise of FFVIII, but without a release date. However, the presence of pre-orders in the first place suggests that physical versions are in the works.
As for pricing, pre-orders are currently priced at $59.99 USD, a bit high for a remaster. More news on the physical version may come in the coming days.
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2019. We reported on director Yoshinori Kitase talking about why the game’s remaster took so long here.
