Chucklefish has issued an update on the Wargroove PlayStation 4 release. A release date will be coming soon, as the game has entered Sony’s certification process. However, this version will be the only one to not support cross-platform play. (Chucklefish CEO Finn Brice noted Sony told the company the feature would not be allowed back in February 2019.)

In a blog update, Chucklefish went over some of the things that held up the PlayStation 4 release of Wargroove. However, nondisclosure agreements keep it from talking about everything that caused the issue. Multiplayer and content-sharing technical issues came up. The game will still let people make their own maps and campaigns and share them with other PlayStation 4 owners. However, due to cross-play not being supported, it required extra time. However, all of the other features present in Wargroove on other platforms will be present.

On the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, Wargroove players are able to share and play together. They can take part in multiplayer sessions with one another. Their original campaigns and maps can also be shared.

Wargroove is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. If you want to learn more about the games commanders, check out Siliconera’s interview with Brice.
