Jeff Fowler, the director of the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie produced by Paramount Pictures, has announced that the movie’s release is getting delayed from its original November 8, 2019 date. The picture is now set to come out next year, on February 14, 2020.
“Taking a little more time to make Sonic just right. #novfxartistswereharmedinthemakingofthismovie”, tweeted Fowler. The trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog came out late last month to fan and general backlash over Sonic’s design, which led Fowler to announce that the hedgehog was going to get a design change before release.
The topic then shifted to ‘crunch time’, and whether the VFX artists on the movie would need to work overtime to meet the schedule. Now, it seems that everything has been settled.
Sonic the Hedgehog comes out in theatres on February 14, 2020.
