Most online distributors, like Steam, Humble, and GOG, typically have major sales throughout the year. However, Epic Games Store, the storefront founded in December 2018, hasn’t had one yet. However, in Fortnite a panel ad that appeared a little too early announced that an Epic Games Store Megasale is on the way, and people who have signed up for two-factor authentication may get a little extra spending money. (Thanks, Reddit!)

The Epic Games Store Megasale was confirmed by the Fortnite Twitter account after the leak. The confirmation there read, “Whoops! An MOTD snuck out about a sale. There is an Epic Games store sale on games in the works, but it hasn’t launched yet. Stay tuned to @EpicGames for details in a few days.” While it didn’t exactly confirm that the offer listed in the blurb will be offered during the sale or provide dates, it did confirm that one is on the way.

As for the offer, the note in Fortnite read, “The Epic Games Store Megasale is happening right now! Sign up for 2FA in order to get $10 to spend in the store.” For those unaware, 2FA is the abbreviation for two-factor authentication. It also didn’t note if the deal will only be for people who don’t have 2FA yet, or if those who did already enable it will get a $10 credit too.

The Epic Games Store opened in December 2018. It is available on PCs. At the moment, its current free game is World of Goo.
