We previously reported on Persona 5 Royal’s unexpectedly voluminous third semester and QoL improvements from this week’s Famitsu, which also shared a glimpse at some of the new features.
In addition to new elements in Persona 5 Royal, Atlus is working on quality-of-life improvements, such as improving its tempo by making it easier to earn experience points. The developers say that Persona 5 Royal’s third semester is being prepared to go beyond expectations of those who played through Persona 4 Golden.
We also got another look at the mysterious character, simply called イケメン (“Ikemen” meaning handsome/good-looking man). The magazine suggests his connection to Morgana as he uses the same archaic personal pronoun “wagahai” just like the Phantom Thieves’ second-in-command.
The “Kyoma” are powerful new enemies you’ll encounter in Persona 5 Royal.
The game also adds new mechanics for the Palaces that we didn’t see in the original Persona 5. There appears to be a mysterious glowing object involved here.
Persona 5 The Royal releases in Japan on October 31, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and in the West in 2020. Read more from the interview with the producer and director here. In case you missed it, check our previous report for a look at the recently released English-translated official e-book.
