Fans of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will have a new way to learn more about the game’s past. Kadokawa revealed on Comic Walker that a comic, which will act as a prequel, is on the way. In Sekiro Gaiden: Shinazu Hanbei, people will learn more about Hanbei the Undying. It will come to Japan on May 27, 2019, and an English release has not yet been announced. (Thanks, Anime News Network!)
This Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice manga is being created by Shin Yamamoto work. (FromSoftware is also involved in a supervisory role.) Comic Natalie offered a first look at some panels from it. In it, we see a younger version of Hanbei, a warrior players can train with in the game, attacking another samurai on the battlefield.
As a reminder, Hanbei is a warrior people can find in the Dilapidated Temple. As his title suggests, he is an immortal. This means Sekiro can train with him without fear, practicing and perfecting techniques. He will actually provide some insight from his years of being alive to help you better master techniques like deflection and step dodge.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
