PlayStation 4 Reaches 96.8 Million Units In Worldwide Sales

Sony Interactive Entertainment shared its consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter that wrapped up the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019. With it comes a new total for worldwide PS4 sales of 96.8 million.

The latest financial results show that the PlayStation 4 sold a total of 17.8 million units in the fiscal year of 2018. In Q1 it sold 3.2 million units, Q2 sold 3.9 million, Q3 sold 8.1 million, and Q4 that just ended last month with 2.6 million units to total the 17.8 million of the fiscal year.

 

With 17.8 million units sold in the fiscal year, that means Sony topped its forecast of 17.5 million by 0.3 million units. Moving into the next fiscal year, Sony expects to sell about 16 million PS4 units by March 31, 2020.

 

The PlayStation 4 first released in November 2013 in North America and Europe, followed by a Japanese launch in February 2014.
