A brief saga in the life of the PC version of Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster has ended. After a March 7, 2019 patch, people reported it was not possible to play the compilation offline. However, a March 27, 2019 update has fixed the situation.

The original March 7, 2019 Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster PC patch didn’t offer any noted about what was changed, with Square Enix only stating that “minor bugs” had been fixed. However, once the patch was released, people began reporting that it could no longer be played in Steam offline mode. (They had no problems playing it while online.)

Square Enix noted that the company is now aware of the issue and undid the March 7, 2019 update. This means it is now possible to play the PC version of Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster offline again. The company says it is working on an updated version of the March 7, 2019 patch that will not force people to only play the game while online and will release it “in the near future.”

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is immediately available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. It will come to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One worldwide on April 16, 2019.
