As part of its GDC 2019 announcements, Spike Chunsoft offered a release date for AI: The Somnium Files, Kotaro Uchikoshi’s new game. It will appear on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC worldwide on July 25, 2019. The game will have English and Traditional Chinese text options and both English and Japanese audio options.
Two variations will be available at launch in North America. There will be a $59.99 standard edition and $89.99 Special Agent Edition. While the former will be a normal physical Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 copy, the other will come with four extras. People get a copy of the game in a box with art by Yusuke Kozaki, the character designer for this and the Fire Emblem and No More Heroes series, the Reveries in the Rain soundtrack, an over 30-page art book called Thoughts Remain Below, three A-Set #1 Fan stickers, and a 6″ tall A-Set Acrylic stand.
A-Set was actually revealed back on January 31, 2019. She is a virtual idol whose actual identity is Iris Sagan, a high school senior who appears in AI: The Somnium Files. She is voiced by Jackie Lastra in the English dub and Nao Shiraki in Japanese. People keeping up with her YouTube account lately may have noticed her videos have gotten rather strange.
Here was the last A-Set video, which was released on March 20, 2019. It glitches out right when it gets graphic.
