The Ni no Kuni series is getting a special anime film this summer, but before that its latest game Ni no Kuni II is getting its second major DLC on March 19 featuring new story, character episodes, and more.
In the new DLC titled “The Wizard’s Companion” in Japan, there will be plenty of new features including new story episodes and the “Pandora Night” arena.
A mysterious character with a rabbit head plays a key role in the story of the DLC. After hearing about rumors about being able to meet a mysterious rabbit by sleeping at the inn, Evan immediately heads to Goldpaw to see for himself.
When he wakes up, he finds himself in a dream, where he meets a suspicious-looking person with a rabbit head who says he’ll be Evan’s guide. What could this “guide” be up to, and what’s his key role in the story? If you played the previous Ni no Kuni you might recognize the character, but his involvement in Ni no Kuni II still remains unknown.
New character episodes will tell us more about main characters with new scenarios that have yet to be seen.
The previous DLC introduced the Martial Method battle system and the upcoming DLC will introduce two more Martial Methods. More information on that will be revealed later. Lastly, there will be a new arena feature called “Pandora Night” that is said to be the highest difficulty challenge where you take on consecutive battles in time attack format, as well as a chance to get sweet rewards based on clear time.
Ni no Kuni II is available on PlayStation 4 and PC. The second major DLC releases in Japan on March 19, 2019 for 1,500 yen plus tax.
