Back in 2004, Comic BomBom ran a manga titled Metroid EX: Samus & Joey, a 12-chapter spinoff manga that was a sequel to Samus & Joey. The manga detailed Samus and her journey alongside Joey Apronika and Diesel in order to retrieve her stolen Power Armor upgrades.

The magazine has since folded, and the manga never got an official volume release even in Japan. Currently, the mangaka for Metroid EX is looking to amass enough votes at Fukkan.com, a company where users can vote for printings/reprintings of books that have ended production, to show that there is demand for an official volume release of the manga.

Currently, the manga has amassed around 160 votes on Fukkan. While books have seen rereleases for less than that on the site, the mangaka has been pushing for as many people to help vote for the manga to fulfill his wish, and make the manga more commercially available in Japan.

You can find a link to the Fukkan page here, and interested people can sign up here and vote by clicking on the red button at the bottom of the page.
