Resident Evil 2 Reaches 3 Million Shipments Milestone For An Impressive Global Debut

The Resident Evil 2 remake released last Friday and the game is already onto an impressive debut as it reached a milestone of 3 million units shipped worldwide in less than four days, Capcom announced.

 

To give you an idea about some of the Resident Evil series’ sales, the original Resident Evil 2 released in January 1998 and achieved a cumulative sales of 4.96 million units as the fourth best-selling game in the Resident Evil franchise. As of January 28, the entire series has reached a total of 88 million units in cumulative sales since the first title debuted in 1996.

 

The Resident Evil series’ previous major release in Resident Evil 7: biohazard, also reached the 3 million milestone in worldwide shipments, but it took about 12 days to reach the milestone.

 

Resident Evil 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Ghost Survivors update arrives on February 15, 2019.
