Kingdom Hearts III is releasing its epilogue a day after its worldwide release and its secret movie a day after that. Tetsuya Nomura explained how players will get to unlock it during a recent interview with Famitsu.

Below is a segment about the epilogue and secret movie:

Famitsu: Are there any requirements needed to watch the epilogue and secret movie?

Tetsuya Nomura: “The epilogue is shown after the ending, so if you download it the day after release on the January 26th [In Japan] you’ll see it after clearing the game. The secret movie releases on January 31st [worldwide], but it requires taking photos of ‘Lucky Marks’ as part of its viewing requirements.”

So it’s a collection element that requires taking photos of King Mickey-shaped markers using Sora’s Mobile Portal.

Tetsuya Nomura: “The number of photos required varies based on the difficulty selected at the beginning of the game. For the easiest one, ‘Beginner’, you’ll need to get all the markers, but for ‘Standard’ and ‘Proud’ difficulties it’ll be fine to skip some. You can finish with much less in ‘Proud’ but I don’t think ‘Standard’ would be much trouble either.”

Are there any other requirements?

Tetsuya Nomura: “No, the number of Lucky Mark photos is the only requirement. So that means this time you’ll get to watch it without having to meet multiple requirements.”

That sounds a lot easier than previous titles.

Tetsuya Nomura: “That’s right. Players these days have their needs, and we also want to have many people possible watch it, so we made it that way.”
