Gust shared the latest on Atelier Lulua in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine with the reveal of Sterkenburg “Sterk” Cranach and new character named Maana & Stia, info on synthesis and battle systems. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
Sterkenburg Cranach (CV: Jurota Kosugi): Currently the leader of a guard group that watches over all of Arland.
“Hehe, now I’m not sure which one is supposed to be the daughter! Oh, sorry, but it’s time for work.”
Sterk will also participate in battle as a party member. We don’t have an image to go with the above quote from Sterk, but based on that Ryokutya suggests that he’s a possible father candidate for Lulua.
Maana (CV: Yui Kondo): A girl who becomes a regular visitor of the orphanage. She has a rather enlightened way of speaking considering her young age.
“Now you go off and have as much fun as possible! And don’t forget to bring a souvenir! Fuhahaha!”
Stia (CV: Rie Kugimiya): A girl who doesn’t show much emotion. She also seems to lack the ability to read the emotions of other people.
It appears that neither Maana or Stia will participate in battle. The spelling of their names are also subject to change once we get the official romanization from Gust.
As for the synthesis system, the base system will remain intact, where characteristics of materials go into the items that are being made. There’s the addition of new Alchemy Components and Boost Items:
- Alchemy Components: When going beyond the values of ingredients such as ice and earth, you can get a different result.
- Boost Items: These can be tossed in once during synthesis. By doing so, it affects the Alchemy Components and quality.
Lastly, there are some details for the battle system which will let you have up to five party members in combat. There’s also a mysterious item icon by the character portraits in battle. This icon might indicate items that you can use during battle when it’s not their turn.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland releases in Japan on March 20, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It’ll release in the West in Spring 2019 for PS4, Switch, and PC. Check our previous report for a look at its first trailer.
