Following the resignation of Hajime Tabata on October 31, 2018, Square Enix announced that Takeshi Aramaki, who worked as the lead programmer of Final Fantasy XV, will take over as head of Luminous Productions, a position which Tabata held prior to his departure from the company.

Takeshi Aramaki, who worked as the lead programmer on Final Fantasy XV, also did work on the PC version, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition. Aramaki says that Luminous Productions was established to make brand-new AAA titles coming from Japan to the rest of the world.

Using the technology and development know-how gained from Final Fantasy XV, and through the strength of partnership, Aramaki says he’s looking forward to sharing completely new kind of game experience.

In related news, we recently found through a Linkedin profile of one of Luminous Productions’ staff that they’re working on a “new AAA title for PS5.”
