This week’s Super Smash Blog for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate introduced masters of swords and magic with Meta Knight, Robin, and Zelda, as well as fighting game-related Assist Trophies, topped off with a self-arrangement of Bowser’s battle theme from Super Mario Bros. 3.

#27 Meta Knight

This fighter not only has tons of quick moves, he can perform a midair jump five times! All his special moves have a recovery aspect, so use them at the right time. His Final Smash is Darkness Illusion, which unleashes a fast series of aerial attacks.

#56 Robin

A fighter that wields the Levin Sword and four different Tomes! Like in the original game, these weapons can only be used a certain number of times, so keep a close eye on the battle situation. Both the male and female versions of Robin are available, so you can choose your favorite.

#17 Zelda

You might recognize Zelda’s look from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds game. In battle she uses magical moves to reflect and teleport, and for her Final Smash, she seals her opponents away in the Triforce of Wisdom. If an opponent has 100% damage or more, they will be instantly KO’d!

Akira – New Assist Trophy

From the original Virtua Fighter game, Akira joins the battle with the same graphic style as his original appearance. He has a wide variety of attacks at his disposal, but none represent him better than his Tetsuzankou. When he leaves the fight he says his signature line!
*By the way, Bayonetta’s forward throw is also based off of Tetsuzankou.

Guile – New Assist Trophy

Appearing from the Street Fighter series! He crouches down and waits patiently … then delivers a Flash Kick to anybody who approaches! Don’t get too close.

Spirits

Primary spirits come in different types: Attack, Shield, and Grab. Attack has an advantage over Grab, Grab has an advantage over Shield, and Shield has an advantage over Attack. Try to equip spirits that are strong against your opponent’s spirit team!

King Bowser

You can now listen to “King Bowser.” Enjoy this arrangement by the original composer, Koji Kondo, as you reminisce about your past battles with Bowser!

Arrangement supervisor: Koji Kondo (known for work on Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, etc.)
