Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Super Smash Blog wasted no time this week introducing more about the two final Fighters to join the game’s base roster, Incineroar and Ken. We also got a recap of Spirits mode, Klaptrap, Spring Man, and a remixed theme that goes with everything.
#69 Incineroar
A fighter with many special moves that appear to come from the world of pro wrestling. Incineroar has many moves from its original game, like Darkest Lariat, Cross Chop, and Revenge. Its Final Smash is Max Malicious Moonsault. Let the Z-Power explode and deliver a powerful blow!
#60e Ken
Ken joins the battle as Ryu’s Echo Fighter! Their differences are carried over from the original game: Ken’s Hadoken is shaped differently, his strong Shoryuken has flames, and he moves a bit faster. He has two final smashes: Shinryuken and Shippu Jinraikyaku.
Klaptrap – New Assist Trophy
Moving back and forth on the stage, Klaptrap jumps at the nearest fighter and repeatedly bites down. It may be small, but attacks from its strong jaws are dangerous!
Spring Man – New Assist Trophy
Spring Man jumps and dashes around the stage while using his stretchy arms to punch, punch, punch—just like he does in the ARMS game. In a pinch, he can unleash his powerful rush attack to pummel the opponent!
Spirits
Spirits are characters that have lost their physical forms. Equipping your fighter with spirits will power them up with all sorts of new abilties. Wondering how many kinds of spirits there are? You’ll have to see for yourself!
Spirit battles have various conditions that may remind you of the character you’re battling. If you manage to win one of these matches, you’ll get a chance to capture the spirit for yourself!
Street Fighter II / Guile Stage – New Arrangement
You can now listen to Street Fighter II / Guile Stage. Even fans who have heard this song hundreds of times will find new nuances in this fresh version by Arrangement Supervisor Yuzo Koshiro.
Arrangement supervisor: Yuzo Koshiro (known for work on Streets of Rage series, Ys series, ActRaiser series, Etrian Odyssey series, 7th Dragon series)
Video game music extender Crunchii also uploaded the full final version of the main menu theme, after assumedly gaining permission to do so:
Splatoon’s new Smash Ultimate arrangement of ‘Splattack!’ was also shared in full via Nintendo’s official Day 2 recap of the Nintendo Live event in Japan:
