Square Enix shared the latest on Dragon Quest Builders 2 in this week’s issue of Jump magazine, and it focuses more on the multiplayer aspect of the game with a look at some of the things you can do with friends.
At the top of the magazine page is a new vehicle designed by Akira Toriyama. It has a bug-like design and you’ll get to ride on it like a car. It’ll also be available to use and ride together with friends in multiplayer.
Once you reach a certain part in the story, you’ll get to take your base of Empty Island and go multiplayer. You’ll get to build together, check out each other’s islands, and more. You’ll also get the option to set it so that objects of your island can’t be broken by others.
We then get a highlight of a few things that we can do in multiplayer, such as dressing up and showing off unique characters. You’ll also get to build together, starting out by gathering material then work on anything you want with a group of up to four players. The screenshot in the magazine shows a giant Golem that the players are making out of stone.
Players will also have a variety of gestures used for communication.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 releases in Japan on December 20, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Check here for a look at its mining and puzzles and here for more on its desert island Occamur Island.
