A set of new images have been making the rounds, showing what appears to be promotional artwork for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that shows previously unrevealed characters. [Thanks, Resetera.]
Below is the first image in question that originally came from 4chan:
The image came from someone’s SnapChat, who may have accidentally leaked the remaining base roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and a never-before-seen battlfield artwork, or pulled off quite an elaborate prank which could be entirely possible, so we’ll take it with a grain of salt.
However, should the leaked images be real, closer inspection shows several characters that have yet to be announced, including Shadow the Hedgehog, Banjo-Kazooie, Isaac from Golden Sun, Ken from Street Fighter, Mach Rider, Geno from Super Mario RPG, and Chorus Kids from Rhythm Heaven.
Folks were able to dig deeper into the matter and found a name from the image that leads to a Linkedin account of an account manager working at Les Ateliers Marina, a French print company that specializes in manufacturing cutouts and banners for media advertising and has worked with companies such as Bandai Namco. The Linkedin account has been deleted since its discovery.
Again, we’ll take it with a grain of salt until we get official announcements from Nintendo.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releases for the Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018.
