In the latest quarter, Sony has sold roughly 3.2 million PlayStation 4 consoles, which brings up its previous total of 79 million to 82.2 million units. The last known figure of the PlayStation 3 console was around 80 million units in total, so it’s safe to say that the PS4 has outsold the PS3 in a little less than five years since its launch.

Sony also shared some info on its PlayStation Plus subscribers, which was previously at 34.2 million subscribers back in March 31, 2018 but it has taken a dip to 33.9 million in the latest count last month.

The PlayStation 4 first released in November 2013 in North America and Europe, followed by a Japanese launch in February 2014.
